I called in sick, took a Tylenol 3, Flexeril (a new muscle relaxant that someone recommended I try), Ibuprofen and Benedryl and went back to bed. And then I got a call from Human Resources that I had to come work. I didn’t have any more leave left and if I didn’t come to work I could lose my job. I told her about all the medication that I had just taken, but she basically insisted that I come to work. So I got out of bed, my head in serious pain and all meds starting to fully kick in. I definitely should not be driving but I definitely can’t lose my job. Quite the conundrum! But I headed in to work. When I arrived I was told I couldn’t do any work because of the medications that I was taking. Human resources vs. boss made it so that I had to come in to work but I can’t work. Well except for desk work.
So for the next week I was given the task to figure out why the process we were using to harvest botulinum toxin from C. botulinum. We had been having difficulty producing large amounts of toxins, so I started going through past documents to determine what we might do to better the process. So I went back to the very beginning!
We have have plans to go and hang out with Norm and Deb and their grand kids for a Pre Superbowl Party tonight. We never watch the Superbowl really, but we love to get together and the Superbowl was on a Sunday this year, so we just decided to get together on the day before and just play games and eat lots of food 🙂
But my headache continues, so I decided to take Vicodin because I know that it has always been good in the past and the Tylenol 3 wasn’t really working. On the drive over to Norm and Deb’s I was so nauseous. Apparently Vicodin was not a good choice. So for the first hour of the party I didn’t fell very well. Luckily I had Zofran for nausea in my purse. My headache finally got a bit better, or I just stopped caring about it and we had a great time.
Headaches sure can be debilitating:(. Home today after a 3 day battle with a headache caused from work stuff. Physically not stress caused. But a headache nonetheless. My brain feels like it is swelling. I am
ready to just be better and healthy!!
Chiropractor or Urgent care?!?! I called our chiropractor and they’re not open so I decided that the unusual nature of headache will land me in urgent care. So much has happened in the last week that I just wanted to make sure this wasn’t from meds, allergic reaction and more drugs. No relief by any meds or Dan adjusting me for 4 days. The swelling is all encompassing in my face, head and down my spine. So could be out of alignment could, be anything. Ugh!
So I went to Urgent care and the doctor pretty much just prescribed me Toradol in pill form (which didn’t do anything) and said t
o take Benedryl. When that didn’t seem to do anything for the headache, I called back into the Urgent Care and they prescribed me Tylenol 3 with Codeine. The doctor at the Urgent Care also said it might also be helpful to go to the chiropractor, so I found one in town that was open and went straight there. That didn’t seem to help either. So I’ll just keep taking the Tylenol 3.
